Pulling out an older SSD device from the shelf for re-use, I realize
that because of the "weirdness" of SSD devices, I should reset the
device beofre using it to refresh the NAND storage in it. As always,
I want to do this from the Linux command line, so my first attempt was
to search the man-page of
smartctl
for the string erase. As this
yielded no results, it only took about 5 minutes from looking for a
solution on the Internet to actually doing it. And this without using
any LLM to do the job for me. And I even learned something new.
